Gracious and generous God, creator and giver of all that is good, we thank you for our many blessings. We acknowledge that all we have is from you. We offer you thanks and praise for the beauty of the earth, our family, our loved ones, and all the gifts we have been given.
Help us to hear your call to be good stewards, caretakers and managers of all your gifts by sharing them for your purposes. Help us plan to serve our church, our community, and our world with your gifts. May we serve you and pray with a joyful spirit of mind and heart. We remain your faithful stewards. Amen.
Stewardship is an expression of faith. It is a spiritual discipline that encompasses our very being as Christians. It is a radical departure from our secular understanding of charity where we give to meet an external need. Instead, stewards are motivated to give because it is something we internally need to do; it is intrinsic to our very understanding of what it means to be fully human.
The Christian gives freely because that is what God did and because “God loves a cheerful giver” (2 Corinthians 9.7). Recognizing that God actually gave us everything we have in trust, we, in turn, share the gifts we have been given.” [Christ Church Cathedral, Victoria, Stewardship: Our grateful response to God’s generosity]
We kicked off our annual three-week stewardship campaign on Sunday, March 3, 2024.
Our main campaign goal
To ensure that everyone knows about our parish ministry plan and the ministries we fund.
Secondary goals

To pray about how we respond to God’s mission in Nanaimo

To share stories from the parish of why people give

To remind folks that “time” and “talent” are just as important as “treasure”

To create sustainable funding in order to maintain our current ministries and fund emerging and new ministries

To welcome 10 new givers and have 15 givers increase their gifts so total giving increases by 15% and the average gift increases by 10%

A 15% increase in those giving through PAR. (4 people)

Gracious and loving God help us understand your call to be stewards of your abundance, the caretakers of all you have entrusted to us. Help us always to use your gifts wisely and to teach us to share them generously. May our faithful stewardship bear witness to the love of Christ in our lives. Amen.
We give thanks and praise for all the gifts God has given to us to build His kingdom; to witness to the world the divine love of God. And not for ourselves alone we share and give our treasure. As God is generous, let us be generous for the glory of God so the doors of our hearts and our church are open to all. Amen.
