Join us on Thursday, April 18 at 7 pm for our Maundy Thursday service of Holy Communion and The Stripping of the Altar.

We hold our parish potluck supper before the service at 5:30 pm in our parish hall.

Maundy Thursday is the Thursday in Holy Week. It is part of the Triduum, or three holy days before Easter. It comes from the Latin mandatum novum, "new commandment," from Jn 13:34. The ceremony of washing feet was also referred to as "the Maundy." Maundy Thursday celebrations also commemorate the institution of the eucharist by Jesus "on the night he was betrayed."

We will gather to break bread and remember Christ's institution of the Holy Eucharist.  We will offer ourselves as we re-enact the gesture of washing feet and hands as a symbol of servant discipleship.  We will strip away all the fine linens and vessels in the sanctuary and altar. We will empty the Ombre and keep vigil until Holy Saturday.
